Does anyone know about how I could import a 3-series diesel touring (wagon)? So far, they are only offering the sedan here in the US, and I'm wondering if anyone has tried to import a wagon, and if so, what are the duties, emission issues, etc...? Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

Unfortunately you will have to wait 25 years until the car is exempt from import regulations. The alternative is to take the engine out of the car and import the two of them separately.

So no, it aint easy. Wait for the X1 diesel (it is based on the e91 wagon, unlike what this months Roundel said).

What, you can't import cars anymore? What makes this so difficult? Emissions? How is it sooo different between the countries?

Well, seems pretty silly. I wonder if their emissions regulations are so different? I'll keep my eye out for the diesel. Thanks for the info all!
