Returning BMWCCA member because I just purchased a 2003 530i...with only one cigarette lighter outlet.
No NAV...I would like to hear from anyone who has discretely hardwired an add-on NAV (Garmin) and/or a mini-USB charger for a cell phone...I want to get rid of (or minimize)cords. Any suggestions on where to tap in to switched 12v, where to mount NAV and mini-USB charger outlet would be much appreciated.

    Mounting Accessories

When I had my radar detector hardwired, I went to one of the auto parts stores and purchased a fuse tap that simply plugs into the fuse panel. It gives you one 12 v+ and also has a fuse for the accessory or circuit that you are tapping into. When finished, simply route the wire through the dash to the location you want to have power.
