Installing my boot cover is too difficult to make it worthwhile. Are there any clip modifications available which make this job easier while still properly securing the cover to the car?

I'm not sure why you're having difficulty. I install my boot pretty easily on my '98, doing the center ones first, then the two outer ones, finally tucking the boot under the rubber gasket around the rear edge.

    Tonneau cover

I bought a soft tonneau cover from Z-3 solutions.... solved both the installation problem and also the storage problem when on a trip and needing the trunk space.

try clipping the back 2 first with the top still folded. Then twist the sides around. Once I learned that, it made life much easier.
