I am trying to replace the fog light on my 525i. It seems I need to remove the plastic panel adjoining the fog light surround. The fasteners are not screws but some other type of fastener. Does anyone know how to remove the fasteners so I can access the srews to replace the light. BTW if you are in the NOVA area the parts guys at Sterling BMW rock!!

I have _no idea_ if this may help, but on my E34, the plastic panels next to the fog lights have a couple of spring-loaded clips that slide, but that's pretty easy to see, at least when looked at from underneath where you can eyeball their backs directly. I think those have to be accessed from the back - but I could see where that wouldn't be obvious without having the front of the car up in the air. Obviously use a proper jack, jack stands, wheel chock(s), proper jacking procedures, etc. Or - a flashlight and an inspection mirror might allow you to get a look without requiring your head under the car.
