I am replacing all the pulleys in my M3 E36 to try and quiet some noise. I have end play equal to the thickness of one or two regular playing cards in/out at the power steering pulley.

Is that acceptable or could a problem be developing. If I still have noise I will want to focus my ear on the pump I suppose.

I am putting about 35 to 40 lbs torque on the bolts for the idler and tensioner because that is what feels about right for those bolts based on the loads and materials. Please correct me if I am way off.

    Thanks again.
