My 2010 E70 X5 has "trunk tension straps" on each side of the cargo area. They are stretched out, and I have obtained the new straps (part no.51477140694). I'm not anxious to pay the dealer to install them, but can't find anything online about how to replace them, and don't want to start prying out the old ones if I don't know what I am doing? Has anyone replaced those straps, and can you tell me how to replace them? Thank you very much.
I will have to look at the replacement info. I have not done these before and most people never use them.
Thank you very much. I can now answer my own question as I asked the service adviser at the dealership when I picked up the parts. The straps snap in and out. However, you have to pry the existing straps out, rather easy with a screwdriver, from the inside edge (underneath the strap), rather from the outside end. The snap-in piece has longer hooks on the outer ends that will not pop out. Then, just snap the new part into place (putting the outer ends in first, and then snapping the inner side second). Three minute job. Now looks great instead of saggy.
