So in the *ridiculous* cold we have had here in Indy (-12 degrees) I have come to notice a new sound coming from the car.
When it is cold, cold, cold, like when leaving the office after it sitting outside all day, the transmission makes a slight squeaking sound right before upshifting. Kinda like a light rear disc brake squeal. Which is what I thought it was at first.... I thought the brakes were sticking... but they're not...

Anyone have a clue? It diminishes after proper warm up running time...
what is concerning is it revealed itself in the supercold (below zero temps) but now is prevalent in the 20 degree temps too. hmmmm.......

Is there something not getting lube on cold running? Or is it some kind of finicky bearing?

By the way car has 102000 miles. I have had the BMW ATF replaced by competent shops, once at 55k, and again at 90k. The transmission shifts perfecto.
