My 1997 528I's ABS and ASC warning lights came om yesterday in my dashboard. Also' my speedometer also stopped working. Any ideas?

Turned out it was the left rear wheel speed sensor,( I hope ), instead of the ABS module. Much cheaper part.
    Thanks for your help

ABS control module. Very common problem. It needs to be remanufactured or replaced. If you get a reman from Modulemasters or similar, you will not need a reprogram. If you have to get a new one, it requires a trip to the dealer or an indy with an Autologic or GT1 to program it to work on the car.

Same thing happened to my e39. I was the ABS module plus the wheel sensors. I was a bit pricey to fix however once fixed no further issues. Good luck.
