I have a 1998 328i sedan, 5 speed, 196,000 miles, with an intermittent throttle issue. The throttle will completely cut out, while at the same time the CEL and ASC lights illuminate. The car acts as if the ASC has engaged. I was getting a throttle position sensor code and replaced both sensors on the throttle body and ASC unit. After replacing the ASC sensor, I was good for about a week but then in the last couple of days getting the same issue, just after warm up. Does anyone out there have experience with solving this particular mechanical matter?
Have you pulled the codes again? The light for the ASC stays on steady, doesn't just flash then turn off?
