My father's 1989 750iL has about 95,000 miles on it and the EML warning light is coming on frequently from which "limp home" mode is engaged. It seems the fly-by-wire throttles are on their way out and new ones cost about $850 a piece... I was looking if anyone is parting out a 750 or has a used throttle body. Thanks

I have heard of someone opening them up and cleaning out all the carbon dust and that it seemed to work. Maybe try that? (There is a risk that you can eff it up, but that is down to your talent level and how careful you are with electronic parts.)

Yeah I found a guy online who claimed to open them and clean them and they worked. He posted pics and wrote step by step instructions of how to take them apart and what to clean and what to steer clear of. I think I'll give it a shot before I pronounce them dead and buried. Thanks and wish me luck
