In an effort to learn as much as possible about my E39 I'd like to invest in some diagnostic software from Bavarian Technic. http://www.bavariantechnic.com/ - Has anyone used this program before and do you know of any alternative diagnostic tools that may be helpful? I have a PEAKE Research Scan Tool that shows me the trouble codes but with all the modules, motors and sensors on these cars I will probably need more then a code reader to solve any problems, especially the EWS code that just came up, and after investing in the workshop manuals I can see I'm gonna be a steep learning curve. Thanks, Peter
This may not be the best place to expect an answer, since most BMWCCA folks like to support our dealers and independent shops. However, if you Google "BMW coding", you'll get lots of hits of places to ask this.
I have the BT and used it for my 01 330xi (gone but not forgotten) and my 09 128i. It has paid for itself many times over in DIY repairs.
