I'm losing coolant fluid. I had my thermostat and water pump replaced...now I'm losing coolant. What kind of coolant can I throw in there without having the BMW brand on hand? Thanks guys.

If you're too cheap to purchase BMW coolant (why would you scrimp here??) you can use Saab or Mercedes-Benz coolant, or Zerex "G-05 Formula." The Zerex might be found at NAPA, Pep Boys, etc.
You need to find the leak, obviously, but use the proper coolant.

What John said; use the OEM stuff. Even non-BMW guys swear by it.

That said, if it isn't going on the ground anywhere the only place is into the engine. You might need to take off the belly pan around the engine to make sure it is not pooling there (ask me how I know ).
