There is an article in the January 2014 issue of Classic Motorsports titled Depreciation Station that gives a brief overview of the 2002 -'08 BMW 7 series. The author (Andy Reid?) says that they are a bargin at $20K to $40K as long as you avoid the first and second year cars and that the transmission is a weak point and can cost $6K to replace. He mentions that the lifetime transmission fluid needs to be changed every 60K miles.
