Just getting started on DIY projects. I am planning on changing my 2001 540i rad hoses. 85K miles now. Hoses, WP, and radiator were changed out at 55K. Hoses look fine, but preventative maintenance here. Maybe a bit early, but I have read some horror stories on rad hose failures. Do I need a special tool to disconnect the wire spring hose clamp at the water pump? Or is a screwdriver to leverage the clip out OK? Any special lube or sealant needed inside the new hose at the connection site to ensure better seal? Also, any other general maintenance advice would be appreciated. Cheers
