And I noticed new BMWs being advertised with Michelin tires. http://blog.tirerack.com/blog/docs-...ichelin-pilot-super-sport-for-the-new-2013-m6 The BMW Manufacturing Partnership We are proud to be the only brand featured on all four M3 generation BMW models with the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport PS2™ and MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport Cup tires. http://www.michelinman.com/experience/bmw-car-club.page
Well, the Michelin connection goes way back, especially at M GmbH. Also, Alpinas used to run on first-edition Michelinos developed especially for the B7. The Castrol connection goes back to the 1930s, I believe. When Castrol was sponsoring BMW racing efforts in the 1970s, BMW's famous Motorsport colors came from Castrol red, Bavarian blue, and a purple resulting from mixing the red and the blue. At least that's what I was told by a BMW Mobile Traditon docent. Perhaps the M stripes will now become blue, green, and Shell gold...
Let's hope not, the blue, green, & yellow sorta look like some hopelessly gawdy color theme you'd see on some South Beach, Miami lanai.
