Can one change a Comfort seat to a Sports seat? Better alternative?

Assuming one can find a matching OEM sport seat for an E90 sedan, can the comfort seat be removed and the sport seat installed? What potential problems are there with respect to airbag/fault codes?

Does anyone have strong feelings about long-drive comfort comparisons between these two seats?

    Thanks!

The bolts for the seat frame should be the same. The wiring on the other hand might be different would need to look at wiring from both cars to see if they will match up. Don't think there would be a difference but you never know.

I seem to recall reading in a blog that procedure was very important and that without following it an airbag fault code could result. In any event, while there are vast quantities and selection for after-market seats, there is little in OEM and of course, one must have some concern for a good match of leather if one could even find a used OEM sport seat. I think it is one of those things you think about doing, but simply make sure to get the sport seats in the next bimmer.

As always, thanks for your input!
