I am on my second e39 wagon. My first had a black plastic Bumper Protector on the top of the painted bumper surface, below the hatch door: this is a spot of Lots of wear with cargo/kids etc. My first wagon had one- But none of the BMW parts guys could find this as original equipment/ does anyone if this is an After market part? or if OEM bmw does anyone know the number? thks ricardo.vestuti@reebok.com
Here is another suggestion that seems to work miracles on the BF.c. Use Plastidip to cover that sucker!! A lot of guys are having UBER success covering their chrome trim with the Plastidip and are also having great success covering their body moulding and bumper strips so this may work for you as well. Pop over to the E39 section at BF.c and look for titles with Plastidip in them...you'll see what I mean.
