    Hello,

Anyone know how thick new brake pads are, and what the minimum thickness is?
Specifically for an E90, or an X3. I imagine these 2 might be the same?

Thickness of new ones varies with the car and with the manufacturer. Minimum pad thickness spec on all the BMWs I know of is 1-2 mm. IOW, if there's any pad left, it's 'acceptable'. Doesn't mean you'll get all the way home without it becoming 'unacceptable', though. This is just for the protection of the rotor surface. You should have minimum thickness warnings for far longer than that, though. The warning systems (electric sensors) are designed to warn you when there is some pad left, but not so little that you have to immediately park the car until they're changed.
