I just replaced pads and sensors on my 2004, and the light is still glowing its wicked orange warning at me. Before I get out the black tape, do I need to reset something to clear the warning? I may need to go back and recheck the rear connection - they sure did not make it easy to get to.

Don't have an E46, but I think this poll can apply to just about any BMW.
