Boston Chapter BMW CCA Concours d'Elegance Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline MA Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 9AM to 2PM

Mark your calendars for the Boston Chapter’s annual Concours d’Elegance being hosted this year at Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline MA. This year we are excited to return after a hiatus of a few years to Larz Anderson for the Concours. Pre-Registration is encouraged this year. The Chapters Website www.boston-bmwcca.org will soon be updated with all the information (Classification of Groups/Classes, Judging, Scoring and Rules) that you will need to participate in Concours this year. As an incentive for Pre-Registration we will be charging $20.00 per car. The charge for the Day of the Event will be $25.00. There will be a Registration Page set up on the Chapter’s Website that you can use to make a PayPal payment required for all Pre-Registered cars. The final date to do Pre-Registration is Thursday, August 9.

If you think that a Concours is only for those people who trailer their car and never drive it, think again! Our Chapter’s Concours has groups for everyone. All participants are eligible to win awards. In prior years, we’ve had a great selection of cars, from classics to the latest models. Of course, your MINI is welcome!

New this year is a simplified version of the groups/classes based on the National Club’s (BMW CCA) latest Oktoberfest Concours Classification System. Judging and Scoring this year will also follow National’s Judging & Scoring System which is more simplified than our prior Judging & Scoring Systems. This will allow for less time required for judging and a quicker turnaround on Scoring. We will still have a Clean Class and Super Clean Class within the Five Groups that again follows National’s guidelines. The Concours Group, Best Mini, Peoples Choice and Display Only will be retained.

The Classification System listed below will allow one to understand which group their car will be judged in. There are five groups covering the Classics from the ‘70s up to current production models. There will be four trophies in each group (two in Clean and two in Super Clean). This year we added three more trophies from the prior event for a total of twenty-five trophies. There will be two trophies in the Concours Group and one trophy in Best Mini, Peoples Choice and Display Only. Every Concours participant will receive a Boston Chapter Concours commemorative t-shirt.
