I believe the event will take place on Sunday October 5th. I was wondering if the NY Patroon chapter will be meeting up and driving together on Saturday over to NH for the Sunday event. I read that for the 2007 event, cars were lined up waiting to get in the lot as early as 6am. I say we all show up at 4:30 to get first dibs at parking spots. Call me crazy, but aren't we all crazy for being on this online forum?:D

You bet we will be there! This will be year nine of our journey to the ocean. We usually have a group head over on Friday afternoon and then others join us as they can over the weekend.

We do usually get over there around 7:30 to park as a group, which gives us a fine place to hang out. No need to be there first unless you want to put that on your BMW resume, and I am waaaay to old for that. I need my beauty sleep.

Our home base has been the Marriott Farifield which is less than two miles away, and we get discounted rooms. I will let you know when these become available.

I guess you have a valid point. I need my beauty sleep too. Besides I know people will probably be camping out the night before. Since you guys meet on Friday, do you all head out driving to NH on Friday evening or drive out Saturday from the Albany area? I bet that is a nice long BMW rally drive :D

    Is this a one-day thing?

Only from 10-2 on Sunday. That is it!!! I did a mapquest and its about 4 hours and change from my house. I have always wanted to go since '97, so I figured I should finally give it a shot.

Well, the question is: is it worth it? Is it worth the 2+ tanks of gas and the 8 hours of driving time?

I've never been to New Hampshire before, I've got to admit...

I have been asking myself that question for over ten (10) years which is why I probably never got around to go. Money was a major factor, though I know that if I go this time, the drive should be a great one. I would say that we aren't just going up to New Hamshire just to see over 100 BMW's and the possibility of seeing a 507 with the M5 drivetrain (I got all the car collector people mad at me;)) or the chance of seeing a Z8 with machine guns and ejection seats:D, but also because it would be a mini vacation, explore new roads, etc... Overall, I would say its worth it.

We'll see. October 5th is a long way off still and who knows what will happen by that time. If my clunker is up to the task mechanically at that time then I'll be joining y'all. :p

While there is a great deal of mods availble to ogle at, there are lots of examples of unaltered original beauties. I have used the owners showing their cars as a source for all kinds of information from which Dinan upgrades are worth it to what do I look for in a vintage addition to the fleet. Also, their tech sessions have proved helpful, they give away thousands of dollars of stuff, and feed everyone breakfast, lunch and beer. What's not to love?

We do treat this as the Stowell vacation for the fall, and the 4 hour show is a only part of a spectacular fall weekend spent with fellow enthusiasts.

I believe Carol and I will make this trip. Besides, the next day on October 6th, BMW of the Hudson Valley is having the Drive for Breast Cancer event that we will request a vacation day :) so we can drive a boat load of these fine cars. See you guys on July 27.....

You know you are a BMW freak when.....

    1) You look at all the non-BMW cars on the road and say to yourself, "I don't see any cars" :)
    2) You throw a fit driving in the rain knowing that you just washed your baby AND put tire wet on the tires. Now the rain will diminish the look of the tires:mad:
    3) In your office/cubicle, you have more pictures of BMW's than your better half
    4) You clean your wheels/detail the interior on your lunch hour
    5) You smack your mats at least twice a day
    6) You tend to speed up to another BMW to catch up and get a glimpse of the driver and give a thumbs up!
    7) When a co-worker says that he/she spent $15K on a brand new fully loaded Hyundai, you nod your head and mention that he/she could have gotten a E36 M3 just for kicks.....
    8) You are counting down the days to the Bavarian Autosport Show & Shine.....
