Auxilliary Fan Doesn't come on...

    anybody outthere has any idea what to check , fuses are ok but don't know were the relays are..... 2001 X5 3.0L

    Mine did the same thing and it was just getting caught on something. Make sure thats not the problem.

    check the fan and it moves freely....what's next....

    More than likely it's the auxiliary fan itself. We've replaced a few over the years. There were some recalls on the earlier model X5's for the auxiliary fan after BMW had to buy some guys house when his X5 caught fire in the garage overnight. I think the problem was auxiliary fan related. Then again, maybe you just have some road debris stuck in the blades but that should have blown a fuse. My guess is the aux fan is bad.
