I live in Sarasota Florida and am considering buying a 2002 M3 with only 30000 miles on it.

The air conditioning is the real problem as the owner lives in the North and does not experience really hot weather. Should I just overhaul the air conditioning.

What sort of problems do I have to look for with an older M3?

    Many thanks in advance.

This really depends on how the vehicle was taken care of. My guess from the mileage and year of the vehicle that it is in pretty good shape. Common problems I see on these vehicles are evaporates for the a/c system leaking and needing replaced. Head gaskets leaking oil and having to be replaced. Also have the rear subframe checked for any cracking at the mounting points it was a recall years ago. If the vehicle is SMG make sure it shifts well before you buy that is a expensive repair. Also always have the vehicle checked out by some one who knows these cars before purchase so there are no surprises.
