I own a year 2009 328i x-Drive which is approximately 1 month old. Love the car but was slightly disappointed with the smartphone connection in the center console. Although everything works just fine, the connection and placement of the iPhone is somewhat awkward. After a little reading in the manual and speaking to the parts/service area at the dealership, I see that BMW offers an accessory called the "snap in adaptor" which makes the whole process of attaching an iPhone quick and easy.
Has anyone had any experience with purchasing this accessory and replacing it in a relatively new 2009 328i? From what I have been able to determine so far, it appears that no modification to the wiring and/or programming is needed but would greatly appreciate a confirm from someone who has actually gone thru the process.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Robert
