Too bad for you guys! The Grand Sport race was pretty close with Turner BMW's taking 1st and 3rd, coming back from mid-pack after pit stops and driver changes. But the most amazing part of the day was the 25 lap "race" for the 8 late 1970's to early 1980's Formla 1 cars! OMFG!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, they were all Cosworth DFV powered, but the shriek was still pretty awesome! The Mario Andretti World Champion Lotus 78 and Alan Jones Williams FW07 were really movin!!!! I was lucky enough to have attended the 1979 USGP at Watkins Glen and saw these cars run there. It was wicked cool to see them again, this time at Lime Rock. BTW, they were running 47 second laps on the 1.53 mile course = 117 mph average with essentially amature drivers! Just for fun, here is a shot of Alan Jones in the Tag Saudia Willimas and Jody Schecter in the Ferrari 312T4 from my trip to the 1979 USGP [/IMG]
