Hello - I've been restoring my '88 325ic and I'm down to the rear bumper, which I assume is oxidized. I've tried numerous metal polishes and they haven't made a bit of difference. Any advice on how to bring a little luster back will be greatly appreciated!
0000 steel wool? Bav Auto sells a kit for refinishing that aluminumized trim around windows that includes really fine sandpaper and liquid sealer that works pretty good (for its intended purpose - I've never used it on a bumper).
try it on the bottom-side first, then you'll know if it works without risking the side normally in view, mentioned only in case you haven't already been following that procedure.
