Join the Allegheny Chapter for its annual gathering at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. July 22-24. Together with the Pittsburgh BMW dealers and the BMW CCA, the Allegheny Chapter has raised nearly $100,000 for the Grand Prix charities in just the past two years! The Allegheny Chapter has a reputation for warm hospitality and many believe that the BMW tent is the best place to watch the races as the cars enter the golf course after sprinting up the hill to turn #13.This year the club has put together a terrific three-day program that offers something for every BMW enthusiast. Participants can enjoy their cars on tours and in shows. You do not have to be a member of the BMW Club to take part in the activities, but if you have an interest in BMWs, you'll find that the club has plenty to offer. As always, all years and models of BMWs are welcome! 5er Fest 2011 in conjunction with PVGP As part of its 2011 gathering, the Allegheny Chapter is pleased to host the 10th Anniversary of 5er Fest at the 2011 PVGP. For those not familiar with the event, 5er Fest is the creation of vintage 5 Series BMW enthusiasts who discuss their cars, technical issues and generally socialize on the web at www.MYe28.com. The e28 in the title refers to BMW's internal chassis numbering system which identifies 5 Series automobiles produced in the 1980s. Since the members of this forum are located all over the United States, Canada, as well as other countries, it is difficult to have face-to-face interaction at regular meetings. In 2002, the members of the forum picked Dallas, Texas, as a destination where they could meet. A 5er Fest gathering has been held annually since that first year with diverse destinations such as the BMW manufacturing facility in Greer, S.C., TireRack's headquarters in South Bend, Ind., and most recently, as part of the BMW CCA's O'fest in Elkhart Lake, Wis. Members of this group own many unique 5 Series cars that are rarely seen in the United States. In addition to all of the Allegheny Chapter activities for this year's PVGP, we have scheduled special events for 5er Fest. We extend a special welcome to the members of this group. If you do not have an E12, E28 or E34, remember, the Allegheny Chapter welcomes all years and models of BMWs!
