How do you adjust the latching mechanism on a E60 hood. There are two rectangular metal bars that look like they can be adjusted, but how is it done? BTW, one side of my hood can be pushed up and down about 1/2 inch. Thanks for your help.

I asked this question on another BMW 5 site and received the following answer: Unscrew the plastic piece holding the rectangular bar. By screwing the bar in (clockwise) or out (counterclockwise), you either decrease or increase the length of the bar and, thus, loosen or tighten the hood. Hope this info helps other BMW CCA members who I am told by an "unnamed" source "never open the hood themselves." I hope this isn't true or I'm too old and living in the past where even if we were mechanically illiterate, we'd try to do some simple things.

Was the question too simple? Has no one else had this problem? No comments at all? Oh well; at least my hood is aligned properly now.:D
I guess that I was the only one who did not know how to do this.
