I have a 1985 635CSi, 5 speed I'm looking to bring my A/C system back to life and need to replace the A/C Compressor (as well as the dryer) and convert the system to R134A. Does anyone have any experience (either good or bad) with any particular brand of replacement compressor? Any experience on retrofitting different compressors? Most of the prices for remanufactured compressors I'm seeing on-line are in the $350 to $400 range. Are there other options out there? Any comments/suggestions would be welcomed.
I don't really have any suggestions as per brand, but for ease of fitment, you'd want something model specific vs. something generic.
