OK... I have pulled the handle to open the hood just about as far as I dare with no luck. Any tricks on getting under the hood without using the inside lever?
Thank you for the link. I was searching that forum but had not come across that one yet. No luck to this point but I am still working on it.
When pulling the lever, is it flush with the sidepanel? I'm having a hard time opening my hood because the side panel is cracked. The lever pulls away from the side panel. We both should probably replace the cable. Edit: I'm assuming the car is level. When I have the car jacked up on one side I can't open the hood.
One of the guys here had this problem with his 98 M3. He said have someone pull and hold the handle while you jimmy the hood left to right and push down, etc. He got his open then adjusted the latches and has no more issues.
No love... I was unable to get it open and ended up taking it to the local indie for assistance. Turned out to be the cable rusted through and needed to be replaced. Is it possible that it really is a four hour job???
