The plastic/rubber piece under the wipers and the bottom windshield seal is rotting away and needs to be replaced. Do you know if the auto glass shop needs to look at this, or if it's a part I need to seek elsewhere, or a combination of both? Do you know approximate cost of this repair?
You can get the parts from the dealer and they are not terribly expensive. The hardest part was getting the wipers off (they were a little tight). There is no need to talk to a glass shop, you just pull the old ones off and put the new ones on.
thanks so much, helped greatly and i hear it's call a hood cal cover or something, common to replace and i'll give it a wrench/try. nice assortment of pix. i have 2 whites, too. wish i had many like you.
