I keep getting these Drivetrain Warning Messages. The first two times the car would not start-up, it would stall or die right after starting. I took it in for repair and dealer replaced the fuel pump. Less than a month since the repair I got the warning message again. This time I was driving and it would only operated at a reduce speed (5-10 mph). I just made another appointment for service but this is problem that seem be strange. Do anybody have any info on the issue?. Michael
The drivetrain light can some on for many different issues so it's really hard to say what it could be until you have the faults read out. When this light comes on the vehicle does go into limp mode which reduces the power put the vehicle should go faster than 5-10mph. BMW did have a issue with fuel pumps and the fuel pump module during cold weather causing no starts and the drivetrain message to come on so could be that. But like I said would need to see the faults.
Thanks for the feedback. I had the same problem again and this time they reloaded the software, this is suppose to take care of the problem. However, they found a small oil leak that hit me up for $800, Today I just tried my air condition system for the first time and it's not working. They must have left something loose. I have to take it back again. I have never had this much of a problem with a car before. I guess I pressed my luck a little to far on buying BMWs.
