Just bought a 1986 528e which had set from 1995 till 2008. The car seems to run good other that the instrument cluster and warm idle The speedometer and fuel gauge work all the time. The tach, temp gauge and mpg have started to work some of the time. I found another 528e parts car and bought another cluster with ideintical numbers and replaced the original with no change to which gages worked. The idle seems to be high like 1200 - 1500 and once the engine is warm it surges from 800 - 1200 constantly when in park or neutral. Just joined BMWCCA and have really enjoyed it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
