Hi, Our 2015 BMW 335i driver's door handle (inside part) has become sticky. I understand this is quite common as the car ages. I would like to have it fixed professionally instead of a DIY. Has anyone done this and where did you take it? Dealer? Independent? or Other? Thanks John L
Not something I've had to deal with (yet, anyway) but checking some google search results, among options are o.e. factory replacement (presumably destined to happen again in time), replace with aftermarket plastic handle, stitch-on leather cover, or a simple snap-on cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2l87lykjrg https://www.leathersteering.com/en/content/11-fixing-sticky-bmw-e90-inner-door-handles-diy https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0827J9PM8? This thread had the link to the youtube video; someone else mentioned they used some type of spray, colorbond LVP, whatever that is. Seems like a snap-on cover over the existing handle would be the simplest & quickest fix; interesting it's such a problem that exact aftermarket replacement pieces have been produced. BMW's opting for soft-touch aesthetics on the interior obviously aren't holding up in the long-run. Presumably body shops, independent shops, &/or the dealer, anyplace that can handle simple interior work, should be able to install whatever you might opt for. If you use a dealer, many offer BMWCCA member discounts, you have to ask, be prepared to show your membership card (you can get a digital copy off the clubs site here).
