WARNING: Do not expect to receive your X3 special order within the as advertised four week time period. My personal experience has been that an order placed on Dec 9 2010, with a substantial down payment, was not off the production line until 15 Feb 2011 (68 days). It is now 71 days and still no car. The issue was compounded by the loss of my 2005 X3 on Dec 6 2010 when I was hit on the driver side door by a red light runner at 35 mph. I had to rent a car at my expense for 58 days. The BMW dealer has lent me a car for the remainder of the time. BMW Customer Service is of no help and unwilling to offer an explanation as to what I consider is an excessive delay.
I didn't realize BMW was advertising 4-week deliveries of X3's (or any other models that were special ordered). What the video states on the BMW web-site is delivery of a custom ordered X3 can be had "in a matter of weeks". But, being a new production run, I can see how delays might creep up into the production schedule. I understand your frustration, but are you quite sure this is a BMW issue or could it possibly be a dealer issue? Have you tracked the vehicle's progress through the BMW web-site? Just curious...
Oh No i ordered mine about a week ago..so..you saying dont expect my BMW in 4 weeks ,like they told me when i bought and ordered it??? OH NO....thks for info..
