In 2 days I take a delivery of my mid-life crisis...a 2010 550i MSport. It has just 12k miles on it so it is basically brand new to me. This is all new to me, but can someone give me some advice on what Dinan upgrades I should be considering to increase power? What will give me the most pull for the money?
I'd suggest get your new car (toy? - congrats, btw!) and live with it for awhile (3-6 months, if that's long enough to get driving it in a variety of conditions/ways under your belt), and continue to peruse the Dinan website in detail in the meantime. Then, decide if there's anything you're unhappy with enough to change, and if Dinan offers something to address that, decide if you want to go for whatever the Dinan option may be. If you find a hp bump is what you want, my guess is you'd probably find a more immediately noticeable difference with something like ECU remapping, vs., say, intake or exhaust options. Current BMW's are engineered to better maximize their horsepower potential, so hp gains from modifications these days are both harder to come by, and more modest, than in the olden days of yore.
