I am looking into buying a 2008 x5 3.0. a lot of the reviews i have read have been saying that the transmission is terrible. in a way i believe them because i owned a 2000 323ci and the reverse clutch plate holder broke on me so i no longer had reverse anymore. that lead me to believe that bmws automatic transmissions are terrible. they outsource them (most likely to the lowest bidder). i am just angry i put the car up for sale and didn't save her, but anyways...im just trying to get some feedback on the x5 and their transmissions. the x5 will be getting driven by my wife so the manual is out although i will still be pushing for it. Ah "young grasshopper" - get your wife what she wants. If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Seriously, it's true, as well as electronics can be scary. Still, most cars have some potential issue.
