This has been tough to diagnosis since it is intermittent. Anyone else experience anything similar? I was thinking it might be air intake at first, but my mechanic didn't find any issues. When the noise is happening and you turn the steering wheel does the noise change? Do you hear the noise only when driving or does it happen at idle to?
We have only heard the noise while driving and have been unable to replicate it at idle. I don't notice any difference when turning the steering wheel. It is my wife's car and has been garaged since this started. I am driving it this week to see if I can collect more information. I drove it 25 miles this morning and didn't hear the noise at all.
Please let us know what you find out from driving the car. The clips aren’t clear enough for me to point you in a direction.
So far, it seems that I don't have the magic touch. I haven't been able to replicate. I will continue to drive to see if I can make it recur.
