Hi All. My M3 with 72K needs the rear trailing arm bushings replaced. Instead of going with the factory bushings I am considering the Dinan monoball bushings and at the same time replacing the shock, struts, and coils with the Dinan Stage 1 suspension. I am looking for comments, suggestions, alternatives, or any advice any of you gear heads can provide. I have not upgraded anything on this car since I bought it new in 2002 but given the chance I have always wanted to put Dinan parts in it. It has been trouble free (for the most part) and I plan on keeping it for years to come. It still puts a tremendous smile on my face after a long Chicago winter parked in the garage. And just about any other time I take it out. Thanks.
This all depends on what you wanna do with the car if you just want a nice upgrade without effecting the ride quality to much or do you want some track inspired ride. Dinan is a very ride quality but has good performance. If your looking at the stage 1 kit, I say go for the stage 2 kit its not that much more and what you get out of handling from the front sway bar upgrade is amazing. That is one of the best suspension upgrades you can do for handling on the e46. And I wouldn't but the stock trailing arm bushings back in either they don't last that long usually. The mono balls are great. Some other brands out there for suspension are tein, bilstein and KW. Dinan I belive has a sale right now until Nov 30 15% off.
Thank you for the feedback. What I have read on the Bimmer, M3, and M5 forums is that the Dinan Stage 1, 2 are outstanding! In accordance with what you stated. Dinan does have a good sale this month so my mind is made up to go with the Dinan system. I know it will be a tremendous improvement to an already incredible car and the Dinan history of well designed performance parts and the quality of those parts can only add pleasure and value to my M3.
