Hey guys I recently just bought my ‘10 e92 m3. Car has just gone through an inspection at a shop with no issues. Have tried starting it in my garage the past few days and the car will not start and displays the Engine Malfunction warning light. Any idea what this is and any recommendations for shops in the Phoenix area?

Hmm so many things can trigger check engine lights/messages, I wouldn't know all the possibilities. The E92 M3's reportedly all suffer premature rod-bearing wear but I think are considered solid otherwise; seems like sudden non-start wouldn't be something like mechanical rod-bearing issue. If the battery's ancient? The battery-registration-needed era bimmers tend to have wonky stuff happens if the system's undervoltage with a weak and old battery. But, there's lots of other stuff - vanos system, etc. No doubt googling too should yield a substantial variety of results to wade through - sorry I don't know more specifics for you!
