   My daughter just bought an 06 328 I. Had it out today heard a warning bell looked down ans saw the temp light go yellow then immediatly red ,. I assume this car has an electric water pump. Shut it off immediatly and had it towed home. Car just went over 70k. Sucks no temp gauge.

   Yes that does have a electric water pump.

   Check the thermostat and water pump. It should produce a CEL that can be read with an OBDII reader.
