The oil light in my 328xi came on two days ago. I can't get it into the shop I use, until the week of the 19th (June). That's too long. (I checked the onboard info, and it says the oil is below minimum level.) Can I add oil to get by until I can get into my regular shop, or should I find somewhere else, and get the oil changed now?

I would just top it up and get to your regular shop when you can - assuming you're not driving many thousands of miles in the next couple weeks or have some engine-endangering problem.

Ditto just top off with 5w30 synthetic oil and you will be fine.
