I just experienced my first HPDE, thanks to my brother's invitation. Brother Dave (an active member, Survival School Instructor and BMWCCA Foundation Ambassador) asked me to join him at Lime Rock Park (a two day drive from my home in Kentucky). I signed up and enjoyed my first class at age 70. My instructor, Alexandra Tomasi, a Mini racer, was exceptional. Driving a Mini S myself, she took me in her race prepped car for a few "hot" laps to give me a sense of the track. From then on she taught me (in my Mini) the line, how to drive smoothly, how to be safe, how to be fast and how to have a "smile a mile". If ever you get a chance to do and HPDE with Alex, don't hesitate, do it! I've never had more fun behind the wheel, nor have I ever driven better. Kudos to Connecticut Valley chapter for a great school at a great location. Many thanks to all involved!
