I had an independent code my '06 Z4 for some options, and then the remote trunk lock stopped working. He was unable to fix it and suggests the body control module is bad. I asked if I could replace it with a used one but he said only a new one could be coded to the vehicle. He called the module ZKE. I think it is item #1 on http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BU53-USA-07-2006-E85-BMW-Z4_30si&diagId=61_1625 I'd love to hear anything about this issue and if the mechanic is correct or not.
