Sorry we had to miss O'Fest this year. We obviously missed a masterpiece. Question please: Will the results of the O'Fest activities be posted? Would like to see the results of the autocross competition. Thanks!
What happened to the rest of the course? Sub thirty second runs? To quote John McEnroe: "you cannot be serious!"
What part of the paddock was allocated for autocross? Here's an overhead as reference: https://goo.gl/maps/A4Z7QGyERvL2
Course ran within the approximate area outlined in red - they used the same space for the '13 O'Fest auto-x too
Ya, that was a big space last year, abandoned large airport runways. Most O'Fest auto-x are a large parking lot.
More participation than TSD at least. Like to see the format changed to an ax school in the AM then timed runs in the PM. There is no longer a need to carry it across 2 days.
True. Northern New Jersey and New England Regions of SCCA regularly run more than 150 competitors with six runs in one day. SCCA National Championships had 1,300 competitors run two courses over four days (650 on the first two days and the other 650 on the last two days or 325 on each course, each day). Here's what the East Course looked like (64.5 seconds): https://vimeo.com/182156495 BTW, course length doesn't control the time spent running the event, frequency of sending each car (15-25 seconds between each run) does.
True. Length doesn't dictate how many cars can run the course, but the layout of the course does. Often the autocross is outsourced to SCCA as it will probably be in New Orleans. I'd like to see car control turned into an autocross school. But that's me.
I'd be happy to do a school but keep the autocross as a distinct element. As to the next O'fest: "lemme sea," Nawlins in July, think it'll be a "little" warm there? ;^)
I didn't think I saw the write up or results for the TDS rally in the Ofest issue or Roundel. Did I miss it?
