I have a 2004 330ci with weak battery. The date stamp says BC3JUN0310 which I believe means February 2003.
I have read several posts online that indicate that the battery should be replaced by dealer and /or BMW shop due to all the electronics and computer monitoring and registration of the new car battery.
Can car battery be replaced by owner without damaging any electronics or computer.
Any input would be much appreciated.

Your vehicle does not need to have the battery registered so all you have to do is replace it and your good to go.

Is this because it's an older car?
    Thanks for the information.
