I'm new to BMW (BMW 535ix) and its service policies. They tell me that I can go one year or 10k miles before an oil change. Shouldn't a new engine get a break-in change after about 2k? I may be old school but changing the oil often is in my blood. I'm ready to pay the price. Any thoughts?

What they told you is true. The engines in non M vehicles have been broken in at the factory. Of course you can pay to change the oil in-between services I have lots of customers who do this.

The synthetic oils used now can be run for extended intervals compared to the conventional non-synthetics.

Sent in my final payment last week... So when does the Bee begin to appreciate? Seems like a car wearing a yellow suit should begin earning value at some point. At least it still makes me smile.
