E36 Clutch Knob Compatibility

    Hard to say but here is a way you MAY be able to research it out. Write down the last 7 digits of your VIN. Go to www.realoem.com and look up the OEM part number(s) for the OEM Selector Lever Handle (automatics) or the Gear Shift Knob(manuals) One common name: Shifter Knob Then look up the numbers for the M5 ones. If you're REALLY lucky they MAY match up. IMHO the price is probably jacked up just because (they say) it came off of an M5. You may come out ahead if you check out your local dealer pricing for a stock replacement. Make sure you ask about any BMWCCA parts pricing discount.

    (BTW note that it's NOT called a "clutch knob". The clutch doesn't have a knob, it has a pedal. And it's down on the floor. :) )
