If I'm going some place that I can't be confident that I can park my BMW safely, I would rather drive my 15 year old pick up truck. All parking lots are not created equally & Old Red has plenty of battle scars to prove it. See my idea of what the perfect parking spot looks like below:
I am the same way. Where I work, I swear people use the sound of their door meeting resistance (usually the door of the car next to them) to signal them it's open wide enough to get out. So the 328i never takes me to work. Only the truck or motorcycle. Interestingly I've never had the truck "doored". I guess its height makes people more aware of its presence.
