Air Intake Performance Systems I'm considering adding an Air Intake System to my 1995 540i. The systems consist of a chrome bent pipe 3 1/2 " in diameter with a rubber connector on one end and a conical K&N filter on the other. My mechanic says their are a waste of time and money. I thought they are suppose to boost the performance by 10 to 15 HP. If you have had any experience with one of these please let me hear from you. Thanks. Stephen King
I think you posed this question before, but to reiterate, the OE air filter on this model is in no way restrictive. The MAF is restrictive. Focus your attention on that if you want results.
